What to do if you are involved in a car accident.

Stop State law requires that you stop if you are involved in an accident.

Take safety precautions. Use flags, flares, etc., to prevent further accidents.

Seek medical attention. See that any injured parties receive medical attention.

Call the police. Contact the state, local or city police.

Identify the other driver. Obtain name, address, phone number and insurance information.

Verify information. Make sure the license is current and the registration number matches the number plate on the vehicle.

Report the accident. You can report your claim one of three ways.

Directly to your insurance company using the phone number or link listed on our manage your policy page OR
